Zeiss-Ikon Ikonette

The Zeiss Ikon Ikonette features a coated 45mm f/3.5 Novar and a syncrhonized Pronto shutter. The shutter has speeds of 25, 50, 100 and 200 plus B, while the lens-aperture range is from f/3.5-f/22.

Construction of the lens is different than in other Zeiss Ikon cameras. Instead of the usual retaining rings, lens groups are held in place by small snap rings.

My impression of the Novar lens is that it's very good and better than Novars on other Zeiss Ikons that I've used. It delivered good contrast (No. 5), no noticeable vignetting (No. 4) with nice edge-to-edge sharpness even wide open, little or no distortion and minimal light fall-off (No. 7).

I shot with the camera in the case, to avoid possible fogging.
